Our best line of chaps, The Five Star Chaps will get you to those places you need to go. Through Briars, brush, and heavy weeds. These chaps will keep you protected. We here at Dan's Hunting Gear use a 420-denier material that when manufactured, is woven more tightly. This is the reason that we chose this material. With a tighter woven fabric it harder for any briars to penetrate through and get to your skin. These chaps are more durability, because we make them here in the United States and use only the best materials we can find. A nylon strap with a plastic Ā¾'' buckle easily attaches to your belt, while a 24'' #10 YKK zipper makes on and off simple, while wearing shoes. Its lightweight construction features a waterproof lining and double stitching at all seams. Made in U.S.A.

    Bought these for Rabbit Hunting

Posted by Dan D. on 21st Jan 2016

I bought these chaps for rabbit hunting and I have had them about a week or so. I have been out twice since I received them and have been through some thick briars. I have yet to get stuck in the thighs with thorns. These are very well made and I hope they last a long time. 5 Star Chaps deserve 10 stars.

    Great for hunting

These chaps do their job. Lightweight and comfortable are two big pluses. I wear them mostly when rabbit hunting and there is a night and day difference when I have the chaps over my jeans vs not wearing them. Goin in and out of the briar patches or thick underbrush in the woods with my beagles is a breeze now. They easily zip on or off and the belt loop snap keeps them from falling. I used the size chart recommended here on the site and they fit me perfect. I don't leave home without them and would recommend to anyone.

    Five star chaps

Posted by Unknown on 13th Jan 2015

The name of the chaps says it all . They are 5 stars for sure . Ordered 5 pairs of these as Christmas presents for family members and myself . Everyone is extremely happy with them . Nice slick , tough material , slides through the nastiest of places . No more getting hung up or snagged in the briars . Very happy so far

A lot better than the big box stores offerings

Posted by Jerry on 7th Oct 2014

I just got them, haven't worn them in the briars yet. (that's why only 4 stars) The fit is good, not a compromise like what I was finding locally. Lighter weight than any I have tried. Made in U.S.A. is a plus. Shipping was a little high in my opinion, that would be my only complaint. Happy with the purchase.

    durable material but weak stiching

Posted by Unknown on 8th Dec 2013

chaps are waterproof and very good at protecting from all but the nastiest of thorns even when plowing through heavy briars. However, stitching along bottom is easily frayed and pulled by use. Need to use tougher thread and eliminate running stitch so a single break doesn't unravel the entire hem. Make this simple improvement and you have a 5 star product.

Called Five Star for a reason.

These are tough! well made and helps me slip through the briars and sage brush. Also keeps your legs dry when going through wet tall grass. 3/4 length quality zippers make slipping them on and off a breeze.

Having short legs is a problem in the off the shelf world we live in. But no problem with these chaps. I especially like the generous zipper that allows easy on/off.
